SimCity BuildIt Tips and Tricks
Logging Daily for the Rise of Kingdoms
I’ve recently uncovered pfSense and have decided this should be something in my home environment. There are many different places I’ve reviewed on how to set this up but let’s be honest. It’s complicated. Here is what I’ve uncovered for the pfSense install and configuration.
pfSense Planning & Design
I always like to sit back and figure what we’re doing and why we’re doing it. My ultimate goal is better routing control, firewall, and leveraging OpenVPN. With that out of the way it looks like I will need to remove my existing router and essentially build a router. This sounds like fun. If I look at my router it has 5 ports. 1 WAN and 4 LAN ports. The old computer I have doesn’t have this so I’ll have to upgrade a little. A new card can run $300 to start with so headed out to ebay for some used server hardware. Here is some 4 port network cards ideas. I would go with a card with Intel chips on it, we’ll want the better quality. I still picked one up for $30 shipped! This will help with my pfSense Install!
