Netgear 8 port PoE+ Gigabit Plus Switch
Finding the right PoE+ switch at the right price can be difficult. There are a lot of options. Do you buy a cheaper option and hope it lasts? TP-Link has some good products but I've had a few fail in the past, that's why I'm going to recommend this Netgear 8 Port PoE Gigabit Plus Switch.
Why I like it:
- Price - cheaper because it's gigabit vs 2.5G
- All 8 ports are PoE+ at max is 123W.
- Plus Management so you have basic controls of QoS, VLAN, IGMP, and link aggregation.
What I don't like:
- max PoE budget is 123W (which is nice), if you do the math and all devices are PoE+ which draws up to 30W per port. Multiply by 8 and that's max load of 240W. Just be careful and calculate your power needs. You'll thank me during setup.
- Doesn't have 2.5G ports
How am I using it?
I will connect 2 PoE PTZOptics cameras, a PoE controller, and a few computers to this Netgear 8 port PoE+ switch.
